Locum Pharmacist (Galway Hospice) – providing annual and sick leave cover when available. The Galway Hospice Governed Services is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Galway Hospice in supporting patients with advanced diseases needing palliative care to attain the best quality of life possible.
As part of our new Section 38 public sector status, a wide range of benefits will be on offer to successful candidates such as a competitive salary, subsidised restaurant, free parking as well as working with a dedicated and experienced team of professionals. Reporting to the Chief Pharmacists, the Locum Pharmacist, with the support of the Pharmacy team, will ensure that all work programmes are completed to a high standard. Candidates will: • Be a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) • Have at least three years satisfactory post registration experience in a Pharmacy position • Experience in Hospital / Hospice setting is desirable but not a prerequisite for application. • Demonstrate evidence of up-to-date pharmaceutical knowledge. • Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office (as outlined in the job description and specification). • Have experience / interest in taking part in multidisciplinary committees, clinical audit, educational initiatives, medication safety initiatives, meeting national standards e.g. HIQA standards. • Experience in developing policies, procedures and guidelines • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • IT skills
